Use the Sun to Make Melted Crayon Art – Lesson Plans

If it’s warm and sunny where you live right now, here’s a low-prep art project that’s sure to interest your kids.

This solar-powered crayon art can also give you a chance to ask kids for their hypothesis about what will happen when their projects are left in the sun and how long they will take to melt.

You could even do experiments around if crayons will melt in the shade, if they melt faster on the sidewalk versus in the grass, or whatever else your kids might like to try.
