*UPDATED* Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro potential specs, pricing, release date

Last Updated:

Over the weekend Razer sent out an email and updated their official website with a cryptic teaser, possibly pointing to a soon-to-be-announced Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro.

This would be a god send for a pretty substantial group of PC gamers, as the DeathAdder series has always had a specific shape that many people have a strong and unyielding preference for.

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro potential specs

These aren’t the first rumblings about the DeathAdder V3 we’ve heard, however. Around a month ago u/WigettaReddit posted the image below to the r/Razer subreddit.

The image shows a new mouse directly compared to the old familiar DeathAdder V2 Pro, and while they may look identical at first, mouse design is a precise science, where millimeters can make a huge difference to the feeling of a mouse.

This leak now has some new legs on it as the fuzzy electric outline on Razer’s website perfectly matches the new mouse in this image.

Also, given the ‘Pro’ suffix, we can safely say that the new mouse will be wireless, or at least come with a wireless variant.

So, how will the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro differ from it’s predecessor? Well, luckily the image is annotated, which is uncharacteristically convenient for a leak.

While we have no current confirmed spec sheet. There are a few things we can be confident in speculating about, looking at their recent Mouse releases.

This mostly comes from their recent flagship competitive gaming mouse, the Razer Viper V2 Pro. Given the lightness of that mouse and the amount of tech they managed to cram in there, we could be seeing the same top-of-the-line specs here too.

We’re hoping to see a return of the fantastic Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical mouse sensor and hopefully a weight lower than the Current DeathAdder V2 Pro’s 87g.

It probably won’t be quite as light as the Viper V2 Pro due to its more substantial shape, however, the Pro suffix makes us think it’ll undergo a similar weight-loss program with the removal of RGB lighting.

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that we’ll see the return of the magnetic charging dock we like so much from the Razer Viper Ultimate as the copper contacts needed for charging this way add a lot of weight, and when it comes to FPS mice, a lower weight will always be the priority.

DeathAdder V3 Pro price prediction

Looking at Razer’s recent gaming mice, you’re probably going to be dropping a thick wedge here. Not only are Razer mice usually quite expensive, but the ‘Pro’ versions demand an even more painful premium.

Our best guess is somewhere around $160. This guess comes from a couple of factors: The Viper V2 Pro and Razer’s Hyperpolling dongle. Currently, the dongle is upsold alongside the $150 Viper V2 Pro, but we’re guessing that most people are happy with the standard USB dongle it ships with.

So, we think Razer will pivot, and start including the dongle instead of upselling it, then raise the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro price to compensate.

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro shape

Looking at the new DeathAdder vs the old one we can see a few key differences to the shape, most notably, a higher hump under the palm, presumably due to a more aggressive ergo tilt.

We assume the concentric circles on the DeathAdder V3 relate to the slope of the ergo tilt, comparing them to the DeathAdder, it looks like the tilt is positioned further towards the thumb-side of the mouse.

Additionally, we can see the flairs on the mouse buttons that characterized the classic DeathAdder shape have been removed. We aren’t sure why this is, perhaps to accommodate user’s that are prone to click near the edge of the buttons.

We can also see that the scroll wheel has been raised further out of the shell on the new DeathAdder V3, reminding us of the recent Logitech G Pro X Superlight. This would be a good thing for us, as we enjoy a more prominent scroll wheel here at WePC.

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro expected release date

Razer hasn’t said anything quite yet, they haven’t even officially announced it yet, but they have dropped a pretty strong hint.

This takes the form of a live countdown clock on the website, The countdown will expire at 12pm ET / 4pm GMT on August 10. However, you might not be able to buy the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro as soon as the countdown expires.

The countdown might just be for the official announcement, so you could have to wait another few weeks before you can get your hands on Razer’s newest gaming mouse.
