EA Sports are already starting to ramp up the hype for the latest iteration of the hugely popular American football game, with Madden NFL 23 release dates, trailers, and platforms finally being unveiled.
The fan-favorite American football game releases around the same time every year and 2022 is no different. It rose to popularity back in 1988 and has released a new version of the game around August each year.
With Madden 23 release dates, trailers, and pricing all to be discussed, let’s waste no further time and dive straight into it.
Madden NFL 23 release date
It took a while, but at last, we have an official Madden NFL 23 release date – set for Friday, August 19, 2022.
We are now less than a month away and the hype is really starting to build. It has given EA enough time to generate the hype needed to produce yet another successful Madden NFL launch.
Madden NFL 23 Beta
The Madden 23 closed Beta has been up for grabs for a couple of weeks now, giving eager fans of the NFL-sim access to Play Now and H2H ranked.
As Madden NFL 23 Beta will be closed, there is no definitive way of guaranteeing you get a chance to play the new American football title early.
That said, many of the industry’s largest content creators have been running code giveaways – so there’s a chance of grabbing yourself a copy through that method.
Better yet, the Madden 23 Beta has recently been extended until the 27th of June, giving you just under a week to rack up some game time.
The Madden 23 Beta was originally planned to run from Thursday 2nd of June (12:00PM EST) to Monday 20th of June (12:00PM EST), however, due to popular demand, it was extended.
Here’s what the MaddenNFLDirect Twitter posted on the Beta:
What is included in the Madden 23 Beta?
As you’d expect, the Madden 23 Beta leaves out plenty of the game’s main features, including both Franchise mode and MUT (Madden Ultimate Mode).
That said, the Beta is a great way to get a taste of what’s to come from FieldSENSE and other new major game mechanics.
Below is everything included in the Madden 23 Beta:
- Play Now
- H2H Ranked
- Face of the Franchise: The League
- The Yard
- Superstar KO

- Squads/Multiplayer for Superstar KO
- Madden Ultimate Team

There will likely be a bunch of rewards for becoming an early adopter of the game, including Madden NFL 23 early access, MUT packs, coins, and more.
Madden NFL 23 Cover: who will feature this year?
One of the biggest unveilings this year has been the Madden NFL 23 cover – with this year’s copy of the franchise featuring John Madden as the star.
Below are the latest images for the Madden NFL 23 cover:

Madden NFL 23: gameplay trailer
One of the major game changes that will come to fruition in the latest Madden NFL 23 is FieldSENSE – a feature that EA says will give players more control over the games they play.
We will get new tackle animations, while the game is also meant to feel more aggressive than it has done in previous years. EA is affectionately referring to it as the Hit Everything feature, which I’m a huge fan of.
Madden 23 will also continue to update the Franchise mode. This year the focus will be on improving scouting and much more.
Luckily, EA has already released a relatively indepth gameplay trailer that discusses this very topic.
The latest Madden NFL 23 Gameplay trailer was aired at 10am EST on Monday the 6th of June and is already creating buzz around the community.

Madden NFL 23: the editions
This year’s Madden NFL 23 will come with two core editions.
The first of the two available versions will be the standard or base version, available on Xbox One/PS4 (current gen) and PS5/Xbox Series X and S (next-gen).
Alongside this, a Madden NFL 23 All Madden Edition will be available as well – offering up additional goodies.

If you plan on pre ordering the All Editions version, here’s what you will receive as a bonus:

Madden NFL 23: price and platforms
EA has been good enough to release the pricing for the latest Madden NFL 23 game, with all two (three technically) versions available for under $100.
- Standard Edition (PC) – $59.99
- Standard Edition (PS4 & Xbox One) – $59.99
- Standard Edition (PS5 & Xbox One X/S) – $69.99
- All Madden Edition (All Consoles) – $99.99
Will Madden 23 be cross platform?
Madden 23 will indeed be available over a number of different platforms – including PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series, and Xbox Series X.
As stated above, there are two versions available, including a Standard Edition and “All Madden” Edition – which, as you’d imagine, does come with a bunch of additional extras listed above.
Will Madden 23 crossplay?
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the cross-play functionality of the new Madden NFL 23 game. However, if Madden 22 is anything to go off, we can safely say that cross-play is NOT available.
However, with cross-play becoming more popular amongst modern AAA titles, there is no reason to suggest it might not go cross-play upon launch.
Will Madden 23 offer an EA Play 10-hour trial?
While nothing official has been announced yet, we will likely have an EA Play 10-hour trial for this year’s Madden 23.
Last year’s version of the game featured a 10-hour trial and the same is predicted for the newest version of the American Football game.
However, unlike last year – which saw the 10-hour trial fall a week prior to the official early access date – we’ll likely see the 10-hour trial align with this year’s early access (set for Tuesday, August 16th).
Like always, we’ll be updating this page as and when new information is released regarding everything Madden NFL 23.
When is Madden 23 going to come out?
Madden is coming to all platforms on Friday, August 19, 2022, with early access starting on August 16, 2022.
FieldSENSE, EA’s latest Madden 23 development is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
When can I play Madden 23 If I pre order?
Madden 23 early access comes to those who pre-ordered the game on August 16, 2022.
This will give you a full three days of gameplay before the masses pick Madden 23 on launch.
