Learn how to make these fun rubber band rockets that your kids can launch through the sky over and over again.
Today we’re going to turn toilet paper rolls into toy rockets that launch clear up into the air and are super fun to play with. With the help of Duck craft tape, they’re shiny and glittery and really cool looking. The Duck Mirror Tape is soooooo shiny and adds a space vibe to the rockets for sure.

Summer is almost over, so I’m trying to squeeze in a few more fun days with my kids before they go back to school. We recently made these rockets and they were so much fun that I knew I needed to share the tutorial with you so you can make them too.
Here are the supplies you will need:
You can purchase cardboard tubes specifically made for crafting. I linked them in the materials list. I like to purchase a package of toilet paper and remove the center rolls from the paper before they are ever put in the bathroom. The paper is still totally usable and then I can have as many tubes as I need. Gift wrap or paper towel tubes would work as well if you cut the length down.
Step 1: Cover the cardboard tube with mirror tape.
Step 2: Download the printable template at the bottom of this post. Print it out onto white cardstock.
Step 3: Cover the cone template piece with Duck Glitter Crafting Tape. Cut out the circle, cut a slit to the center, then cut out the smaller center circle.
Step 4: Slip the rubber band through the center hole and attach the end to the back side with a piece of Duck Tape. Roll the circle into a cone shape and secure with hot glue.
Step 5: Attach the cone to one end of the cardboard tube using a generous amount of hot glue.
Step 6: Cover both sides of the fin shapes on the printed template with Duck Glitter Crafting Tape. Cut them out, then fold along the dotted line. Use hot glue to attach the fins to the sides of the cardboard tube. Make sure they’re evenly spaced.
Step 7: Cut long pieces of streamer, then attach them inside the open end of the cardboard tube.
To make your Duck Tape rocket fly, pull the rubber band tight with one finger while holding on to the rocket with the other hand. Let go of the rocket and watch it fly!
