Bad day for social media users as social media giant Twitter suffers an outage for many users. Back to Facebook it is!
It is very unclear as to why Twitter is down in the first place, but DownDetector has received a whole host of complaints.
This outage comes hot off the heels of Elon Musk’s attempt to end his Twitter deal, with Twitter taking him to court to try to force him to complete said deal.
While it’s currently impossible to even get on Twitter to verify if this is an outage that everybody is facing, it seems to be rather widespread.
Both Tweetdeck and Twitter themselves are returning login errors, suggesting that something has happened in the internal servers at the social media giant themselves.
Not only can you not log into your Twitter account, but you can’t look at anything on the social media app.
This means that you can’t check other accounts, you can’t check trending topics and you can’t message friends, making communication between people in DMs impossible.
Twitter/Elon Musk Deal
Twitter is currently suing Elon Musk over a $44 billion takeover deal that Musk attempted earlier in the year.
The court complaint read as follows:
“Having mounted a public spectacle to put Twitter in play, and having proposed and then signed a seller-friendly merger agreement, Musk apparently believes that he- unlike every other party subject to Delaware contract law- is free to change his mind, trash the company, disrupt its operations, destroy stockholder value, and walk away.”
Musk is extremely active on the social media app, and build a 9.1 percent stake in the company back in March. He claimed to want to buy the company to purge bot accounts, though obviously, he can’t do that unless he controls the company itself.
