It’s an exciting time looking forward to the next graphics card release. This time we’re looking at the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.
What will likely be the flagship of the generation, it should be a good contender for the best graphics card. With the improvements, there is a lot of hope for good competition.
Now with RDNA 3 on its way we can expect even more. With the RX 7900 XT at the forefront bringing the strength of the selection we look at what it may have to offer.
There are yet to be any official announcements on what to expect. However, there is the rumor mill to look at for any news.
RX 7900 XT specification rumors
There are multiple sources suggesting what the RX 7900 XT specs will be. With a lot that may change along the way.
With the different technologies that have been developed, there could be a lot to expect. The potential implementation of multi-chip modules could offer something new and interesting.
It can allow for better yields as well as better optimizations. Hopefully helping some of the cost inflations we’ve seen.
The latest on the RX 7900 XT is the inclusion of a 384-bit bus. For the card featuring AMD Navi 31 architecture.
Which is meant to both utilize TSMC 5nm and 6nm tech. As it is meant to be a multi-chip module. With likely two graphics chips on the card for better yields and efficiency.
There are also the likely cores that will make up the GPU. With 6 shader engines, 12 arrays, 48 RDNA workgroups, 96 compute units and 12,288 stream processors.
For the GPU clock, we expect high frequencies and higher than previous with around a 3 GHz clock. An even higher overclock from frequencies we’ve seen before.
For memory, we may see 24GB of GDDR6 along with a 384-bit bus. Which if clocked at 18 Gbps will give a bandwidth of 864 GB/s.
It is also expected to have 384MB of infinity cache. As well as an upgrade in PCIe interface to gen 5. Doubling the available throughput from 31.5 GB/s to 63.0 GB/s.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT release date rumors
With a more precise RX 7900 XT release date likely between late October and mid-November.
If AMD keeps up that release date, it may get an advantage over Nvidia. As it has been speculated its releases have been further delayed.
As it’s likely both will be wanting to get rid of their current stock of cards. Especially after the GPU pricing has returned to normal and plenty of cards to pick from.
It has meant there may be delays. But it should mean we see at least something by the end of 2022. It does mean a competitive market with options as long as the price isn’t a breaking point.
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT price speculation
There hasn’t been much in terms of price leaks and there aren’t a lot of previous models to look back upon.
However, following other trends, we can have an idea of what to expect. There has been only one X900 XT model to look back on.
The RX 6900 XT was priced at $999 USD at MSRP. Which will likely be the minimum price expected.
As additionally there could be some expected price increases. So we expect the RX 7900 XT to cost in the range of $1000-$1500 USD.
